Clean energy, innovative recycling techniques and agile garbage distribution in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.
I carried out this challenge in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.
Why? Although Córdoba is a modern city and the government which, together with many companies, provides its citizens with a wide range of products and services, some of them can be seen to be precarious or lack dedication.
The common citizen believes much more in another citizen rather than large companies or the government. Here is an interesting opportunity to develop a service inspired by the Sustainable Global Goals (SDGs) for a more sustainable Córdoba, building a stronger and better-informed community every day.
Affordable & clean Energy
A service for clean energy, recycling and garbage distribution in the city of Córdoba. How? Through a high fidelity App: warm welcome, sign in, explanatory onboarding of what the user can find in this app and a homepage that provides 4 main features plus a menu with other important features that will serve the user throughout the App.
Source of inspiration for this project:
Articles, different recycling methods plus see what other users are doing.
Know where to dispose and / or recycle garbage. Find someone or be the one who carries with the material.
Create recycling challenges for yourself. Join a community with friends or neighbors with the same recycling goals in common.
Observe, learn and share all your progress and achievements with yourself and with other members of the community.
Understanding what the user needs
Focusing on the right problem
Generating and prioritizing solutions
Designing the solution
Learning & Next steps
Throughout this project, I had the incredible opportunity to build something completely from scratch: brainstorming a project idea, doing research and user testing, designing a complete design system, as well as low-fidelity and high-fidelity functional prototypes.
The experience of constantly growing on a professional and personal level is always one of my greatest satisfactions, as well as the joy reflected on the face of whom my work is directed.
Next steps, for future improvements to the App, the proposal is to involve small and medium businesses through a space called "eco-shop". The idea is to expand the community and in this way establish a broader and more inclusive community participation for a more sustainable city, being a triple benefit (win-win-win) both for the common user, businesses and the App: It has a positive impact on the environment, expands business profits through friendly competition and provides greater and better satisfaction to the common user.
Something to consider: According to the data obtained in the interview, the most common communication channels used by our potential users are: social networks, online newspapers, radio and lastly TV.
All over the world initiatives are being taken to make our planet more sustainable.
This project focus on the 7th DGG althow others are relatively close and has been taking into account.
Renewable energy solutions are becoming cheaper, more reliable and more efficient every day. Implementing these new energy solutions as fast as possible is essential to counter climate change, one of the biggest threats to our own survival.
The world’s population is constantly increasing. To accommodate everyone, we need to build modern, sustainable cities. For all of us to survive and prosper, we need new, intelligent urban planning that creates safe, affordable and resilient cities with green and culturally inspiring living conditions.
Our planet has provided us with an abundance of natural resources. But we have not utilized them responsibly and currently consume far beyond what our planet can provide. We must learn how to use and produce in sustainable ways that will reverse the harm that we have inflicted on the planet.
